Suddenly eats almost nothing

My toddler used to eat everything. Now it's bread, pasta and refusal. Is this normal?

Yes. Fussy eating peaks in the toddler years, and growth slows down after the first year, so appetite really does drop. Many toddlers need to see a new food 10 to 15 times before they try it.

Try this tonight

You decide what goes on the plate, they decide how much. Put one food they usually accept next to something new, eat together, and stop asking for "one more bite".

When to check in

See your GP if your child is losing weight, seems unwell, gags or struggles to swallow, or eats only a handful of foods.
