"Mine!" is my toddler's favourite word. Should a 2-year-old be able to share?
Not really yet. Real sharing needs empathy and patience, which develop gradually between about 3 and 5. A 2-year-old guarding a toy is right on track.
Try this tonight
Swap "share" for "turns": "You can have it when you're done, then it's their turn." A timer helps. Put special toys away before visitors come.
