My partner slept through again while I was up with the baby. I love them and I'm furious. Does that make me awful?
No. Uneven nights grow resentment quickly, even in kind couples. The anger is usually about fairness and bone-tiredness, not about whether the love is still there.
Try this tonight
Say it in daylight, not at 3am: "I need us to split the nights so I get one solid stretch." Write the plan where you'll both see it. If feeding makes a full swap hard, the other adult can take the nappy, the settling and the early morning, and protect a nap for you.
When to check in
If most days the anger has turned into contempt, or you feel unsafe, talk to your GP or a counsellor. Asking for help is part of getting through this bit.
