My baby wants to feed constantly in the evening and won't be put down. Does that mean I don't have enough milk?
Not on its own. Evening cluster feeding is common in the early weeks and around growth spurts. Babies feed for calories and for comfort, and evenings are busy on both counts. It doesn't mean your supply has failed.
Try this tonight
Set yourself up before it starts: water, a snack, a charger, something in your ears. Let someone else handle everything that isn't the feeding. If you use a bottle, slow feeds and a calm hold are the same kind of closeness.
When to check in
Ask your midwife or health visitor to watch a feed if you're in pain, wet nappies have dropped off, or weight gain is worrying you.
