Acting like a baby since the new baby

Since the baby arrived, my three-year-old wants a bottle again, talks in baby voice and has accidents. Is this normal?

Very normal. A new sibling is a huge change, and going back to baby behaviour is a toddler's way of checking they're still loved and looked after. It usually passes within a few weeks to months.

Try this tonight

Go along with it a little without fuss: a cuddle like a baby, a turn being carried. Give ten minutes a day of just-them time, and point out the good bits of being big: "You and I can go to the park while the baby sleeps."

When to check in

Talk to your GP or health visitor if it lasts for months, gets worse, or they seem withdrawn and unhappy most of the time.
